I’ve not been posting much by way of updates about the Krasten project lately, so I’m going to summarize the changes and improvements made to the game over the month of August. It’s been a bit of a slow month for development, but among other things:

  • Certain interior rooms can now be set to have a higher base temperature (i.e. if they are more well-heated than others)
    • All interior rooms in the Eagle’s Watch bunkhouse are now heated.
  • Minor improvements to some of the weather/trees description text.
  • Added terrain walk sounds for ice and snow.
  • Once activated, chemical flares and glowsticks will now continue to produce light until they expire, even when unequipped.
  • Adjusted the linked faction gain/loss from several NPC factions: criminal underworld, Eclipse Systems, Green Cross, Indigo Guard, Iron Union, Liang Foundation, Luzian citizens, Order of Purity, Outer Sun Industries, Sirius Corporation, Urban Defense Initiative, Vicker’s Bloodhounds, Volk Heavy Industries and Zaitsev-Kurnikov Group.
  • Added new NPC factions: Lustrum Syndicate and Proxima Accord.
  • Improved the faction-change reporting system to be less spammy.
  • Updated tutorial messages to show in “pop-up” boxes rather than the regular message log.
  • Various performance improvements and bug fixes.
