The devlog for September 1st-8th:

  • Updated all the old tutorial to use the new “pop-up” system.
  • Adjusted linked faction gain/loss for various NPC factions: Basilisk Corps, criminal underworld, Eclipse Systems, Green Cross, Indigo Guard, law-abiding citizens, Liang Foundation, Lustrum Syndicate, Mercury Holdings, ne’er-do-wells, New Teutonic Order, Order of Purity, Outer Sun Industries, Proxima Accord, Rōnin, Sirius Corporation, Urban Defense Initiative, Vicker’s Bloodhounds, Volk Heavy Industries, White Star, Zaitsev-Kurnikov Group
  • Finally added a description for the Lost starting scenario.
  • Quests can now have differing amounts of reputation gain for completion, rather than a fixed amount.
  • Finally finished the Missing Pocket Watch quest, with multiple possible endings.
  • It is now possible to cook certain monster parts, such as organs, eyes or limbs.
  • Improved the item decay system (primarily used for rotting food), added some new decayed items.
  • Added new wilderness beast NPCs: brown papio, forest badger, wild cat.
  • Added new wilderness ranger NPCs: Proxima Ranger Droid, Eclipse Systems Ranger, Liang Foundation Ranger, Outer Sun Industries prospector, Sirius Corporation ranger, Zaitsev-Kurnikov Group Ranger.
  • Added a tag to allow wilderness NPCs to despawn at a shorter range than normal NPCs.
  • Added tags to allow NPCs differing bonuses or penalties to strength, which affects melee damage.
  • Improved NPC spawning system. NPCs will now use a semi-randomized level range instead of attempting to match the player’s level.
  • Updated the physical stats and level ranges on various beasts.
  • Massively nerfed Toughness, Block, Parry skills and all weapon skills.
  • Skills now range from 0.0 to 10.0, in improvement increments of 0.1.
  • Heavily reduced the costs and cooldowns of almost all ATP abilities.
  • Room-based mettle checks (such as being disgusted by corpses) are now skipped while the player is asleep.
  • Adjusted the colour and grade pips on NPCs to be determined by both their level, and their physical stat bonuses/penalties.
  • Updated death sounds for canines.
  • Added a new predator/prey tagging system to allow wildlife NPCs to pick fights with each other where appropriate.
  • The Green Cross is now running Ascension Tower: changed the NPCs in Ascension Tower from Liang Foundation faction, into Green Cross faction.
  • Various bug fixes and performance improvements.
